About This Ribbed Trim Seal

EPDM rubber ribbed seal, measuring .187” (h) and .375” (w).

This sponge rubber seal is designed with ribbed trim to flex with a moving substrate. Channels help to wick away or move water, keeping the area dry and secure. Trim-Lok’s EPDM seals are commonly used across a wide variety of industries to seal out moisture and debris, create a finished look, and protect against rough edges.

To customize your ribbed gasket, choose from two adhesive tape options:

  • • BT – 3M Bonded Tape System
  • • HT – Standard PSA

3M™ BONDED TAPE SYSTEM
The BT option for your self-adhesive rubber seal provides the ultimate bond to the rubber and the ultimate bond to the substrate. With 3M, ribbed rubber seals can create a moisture barrier and air-tight seal. With the highest peel and sheer resistance, it can be used under high loads of stress and force. It has low initial tack for easy repositioning during installation and needs 72 hours of cure time to come to full bond strength. It is rated for good heat performance between -20°F to 158°F.

STANDARD PRESSURE-SENSITIVE ADHESIVE
The HT option for your EPDM seal is an acrylic-based adhesive. It works best when used to hold the ribbed rubber seal in place while installing in a static application or compressed between two stationary objects. It may be used in some light-duty dynamic applications against a variety of substrates. It is rated for good heat performance between -20°F to 158°F.

Adhesive Options
  • "BT" Pressure-Sensitive AdhesiveThis 3M acrylic, automotive-grade tape creates the ultimate bond to the rubber and the ultimate bond to the substrate. It creates a moisture barrier and airtight seal between rubber and substrate. With the highest peel and shear resistance, it can be used under high loads of stress and force. It has low initial tack for easy re-positioning during installation and needs 72 hours of cure time to come to full bond strength. It is rated for good heat performance from -20°F to 158°F.
  • "HT" Pressure-Sensitive Adhesive This acrylic-based adhesive is best used to hold the rubber seal in place while installing it in a static application or compressed between two stationary objects. It may be used in some light-duty dynamic applications against a variety of substrates. It is rated for good heat performance from -20°F to 158°F. Please note: During application, the ambient temperature must be above 60°F.
