About This Lid Seal

Rubber double-bulb seals consist of two flexible bulb-shaped profiles made of durable EPDM and sponge rubber materials. Our double bulb lid seal with EPDM sponge rubber has a height of .500" and a width of 1.500". Find out which adhesive to use with your EPDM bulb seal below so you can choose BT or HT when ordering.

Double-Lip Seal Applications

Our extruded double-bulb lid seals, gaskets, and weatherstrips are used in conjunction with each other to protect cargo and other areas of your vehicle or boat from:

  • Humidity
  • Water
  • Outdoor elements

When a truck cap or similar truck cover, these bulbs compress against the frame, creating a tight seal. This dual-seal design enhances insulation, minimizing air and moisture infiltration, thus improving energy efficiency and preventing drafts.

3M™ BONDED TAPE SYSTEM

The 3M Bonded Tape System enables you to achieve the ultimate bond to the rubber and the ultimate bond to the substrate. This tape option creates a moisture barrier and air-tight seal. With the highest peel-and-sheer resistance, the 3M Bonded Tape System can be used under high loads of stress and force. It has low initial tack for easy repositioning during installation and needs 72 hours of cure time to come to full-bond strength. It is rated for good heat performance between -20°F to 158°F.
