Customize Your Product:

This D-shaped EPDM sponge rubber seal has a height of .750" and a width of .750". It’s designed to create the ultimate bond between the EPDM sponge rubber seal and its substrate, which could be a door, car trunk, window, hatch, electrical enclosure, or cooler.

The strong seal provided by this D-shaped rubber seal can be used for the following purposes:

  • • Weather-stripping to seal out air leaks, moisture, or dirt/debris
  • • Filling gaps that vary in size on doors and lids
  • • Vibration reduction
  • • Some noise cancellation

As you select the right seal for your application, choose the size that will provide 25-40% compression for optimal performance. You can also choose between a 3M bonded tape system or standard pressure sensitive adhesive, which you can learn about below.

3M™ BONDED TAPE SYSTEM
The 3M Bonded Tape System enables you to achieve the ultimate bond to the rubber and the ultimate bond to the substrate. This tape option creates a moisture barrier and air-tight seal. With the highest peel-and-sheer resistance, the 3M Bonded Tape System can be used  under high loads of stress and force. It has low initial tack for easy repositioning during installation and needs 72 hours of cure time to come to full-bond strength. It is rated for good heat performance between -20°F to 158°F.

STANDARD PRESSURE SENSITIVE ADHESIVE
The Standard Pressure-Sensitive Adhesive option for your seal is an acrylic-based adhesive. It works best when used to hold the seal in place while installing in a static application or when it’s compressed between two stationary objects. It may be used in some light-duty dynamic applications against a variety of substrates. It is rated for good heat performance between -20°F to 158°F. Please note: During installation, the ambient temperature must be above 60°F.

Adhesive Options
  • "BT" Pressure Sensitive Adhesive This 3M acrylic, automotive-grade tape creates the ultimate bond to the rubber and the ultimate bond to the substrate. It creates a moisture barrier and airtight seal between rubber and substrate. With the highest peel and shear resistance, it can be used under high loads of stress and force. It has low initial tack for easy repositioning during installation and needs 72 hours of cure time to come to full bond strength. It is rated for good heat performance from -20°F to 158°F.
  • "HT" Pressure Sensitive Adhesive This acrylic-based adhesive is best used to hold the rubber seal in place while installing it in a static application or compressed between two stationary objects. It may be used in some light-duty dynamic applications against a variety of substrates. It is rated for good heat performance from -20°F to 158°F. Please note: During application, the ambient temperature must be above 60°F.
